In the first quarter of 2020, Regenrus Cares had the opportunity, and honor, to give to many amazing non-profit organizations during an uncertain time in our world. During first quarter, our world took on several unexpected crisis’ from the worst Bush Fires in Australia’s history to a Global Pandemic that has changed our lives forever.
As part of our mission, Regenrus sets aside 4% of product sales for our Regenrus Cares Foundation. We believe change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. If there was ever a time to act, it is NOW.
In January, our Regenrus Cares donation supported The Australian Wildlife Conservancy to provide essential needs to help all of the professionals and volunteers who were out there doing everything they could to save as many of the wildlife as possible. According to Wikipedia, as of 9 March 2020, the Bush fires burnt an estimated 18.6 million hectares (46 million acres; 186,000 square kilometers 72,000 square miles, destroyed over 5,900 buildings (including 2,779 homes) and killed at least 34 people. An estimated one billion animals have been killed and some endangered species may be driven to extinction.
In February, our Regenrus Cares donation was focused on children’s needs related to prevention and supporting children who have been physically, sexually or emotionally abused through donating to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Denton. Through a matching donation who we are grateful to, we were able to donate $1,000 to this very important non-profit.
As a result of the current pandemic sadly child abuse it up significantly. We are very nervous for our kids who are stuck in homes with a perpetrator,” said Kristen Howell, CEO of the Children’s Advocacy Center for Denton County. “One of the things that we know is that teachers are our very best defenders for children. So when our best defenders are sidelined, like they are right now, we get very worried about the number of kids who are stuck in situations where they're being abused right now and can’t leave home.”
In the wake of Global Pandemic COVID-19, we are finding ourselves vulnerable & isolated from loved ones. In these moments, communities & individuals are encouraged to help a neighbor, advocate for an issue, donate, or take other actions on behalf of first responders and front line workers, including the nonprofits serving the people most affected by the pandemic.
Regenrus Cares looked for opportunities to help our communities survive this pandemic. In March, we increased our giving and contributed 6% of sales to Feeding America, which provided 5,930 meals to local food banks based on the location of the customers purchases, AND sent over $1,000 in free product to nurses on the front lines. From January through March, Regenrus Cares donated to 10 non-profits on behalf of our socially-conscious Ohana Tribe.
In addition, we have two other give back programs that we support through Regenrus Cares. First the “Ohana Love” program where we gift our products to those who cannot afford the products or need more than the standard recommended servings. We also provide discounts to those who have unique and special circumstances where they cannot pay the full price for the products and need assistance. Since January 2018 we have provided over $3,778.00 in FREE products to those in need.
Second, through our sourcing of ingredients, we look for the opportunity of giving back. For our RegenAloe™ ingredient purchase, we partner with Mannarelief Ministries who feed the Hope Blend to malnourished orphans around the world. To date they have done more than 105 million servings to over 8M Orphans in 89 countries. Regenrus has provided over 80,000 servings since January 2018. In addition, we source Helichrysum from a family owned business in Croatia where three inspiring sisters who employ 1000 migrant workers twice a year to harvest Helichrysum and it is the only source of income to feed their families and provide basic necessities for their villages.
